Theresa May, Prime minister of the United Kingdom, who will pay visit to Nigeria later this week, has stated that Nigeria is home to the highest number of “very poor people” in the world.
Theresa May who spoke in Cape Town, South Africa, on Tuesday, said Africa has the highest number of poor people in the world, stating that 87 million Nigerians were living below the poverty line of $1 and 90 cents per day.
The prime minister who said she wants the UK to become the biggest G-
7 investor in Africa by 2022, building around shared prosperity and shared security.
She said that about 87 million Nigerians live below $1 a day which made it to be home to very poor people more than any other country in the world. She pledged the commitment combating extreme poverty and tackle global challenges
